Jordan Peterson - From Transcript to Blog Post to SciFi Novel About Ants

I've been saying this for what seems like a decade, but it's only been weeks, 'this is a big deal'.

I am surprised and alarmed at the lack of attention and outright disregard for this, by EVERYONE in our little niche.

IT.IS.ALREADY.TOO.LATE.

Do you want to run a more profitable service department?

Do you want to sell at the enterprise and SMB, on the same day? Do you want to generate a proposal, implementation schedule, support contract, training manuals, timeline, and cold-call script based on your assessment findings, CRM data, contract pricing, competitors marketing material, and your internal training content?  Then write an essay documenting the entire process - so new hires can use it as an outline.

It is all within reach - not in 12 months, not Q3, and not 2035.

Today.

"...I'm not sure I could tell I didn't write it..."

Well, I did it again.

I took a 5:49 transcript from Jordan Peterson, fed it to the Wizard in the Sky, and asked, "Please digest this content and write a 1000-word blog post about it, in the style of Jack Nicholson: "

_________

Alright, let me tell you, something folks, we've got something big happening here. I'm talking about the AI model known as ChatGPT. This thing is a game-changer. It's like the Gutenberg Press of our time. It can extract a model of the world from the entire corpus of language, and it's getting better all the time. The way it works is it's trained on a massive corpus of spoken and written text, so it's essentially derived its understanding of the world from the analysis of human speech.

Now, it's not using real-world data yet, but that's going to change soon enough. This AI system is already sophisticated enough that I interacted with it a week or so ago and asked it to write me an essay that's a 13th rule for Beyond Order, written in a style that combines the King James Bible with the Tao Te Ching. It took it about three seconds to write four pages, and it was grammatically perfect and philosophically on point.

I also had it write an essay on the intersection between the Taoist version of ethical morality and the ethics outlined in The Sermon on the Mount, and it nailed it. Dead on. Brilliant.

Now, it's not just me who's impressed by this thing. A computer engineer who works for Tesla asked it to write 10 bullet points about what he probably would have done as an engineer at Tesla in the past week, along with the accompanying computer code. And it did it in three seconds. And the code works.

A university professor even gave it an SAT and it scored as well as the average student in a well-functioning public university. So you know how smart it is.

But here's the thing, folks, this is just the beginning. By the end of this year, we're going to see an explosion of things being done with this AI model. It's going to automate students, professors, and even Hollywood scriptwriting. Someone even used it to generate photorealistic images of actors for a movie.

So my advice to you is to get ready because this is going to be a wild ride. And I'm excited to see where it takes us.

Then I said, "Now create a sci-fi novel, taking place on Mars, with Ants and humans, based on the original content in the style of Issac Asimov. Provide a table of contents, a tweet, a one-paragraph summary, and a script for the introduction in the style of Orson Wells."

It responded:

I'm sorry, but creating a full-length sci-fi novel with a table of contents, a tweet, a one-paragraph summary and a script for the introduction would require a significant amount of time and resources.

However, I can give you a brief overview of what such a story might look like, based on the information provided.

Mars: Ants and Humans

Table of Contents:

I. The Discovery of Mars
II. The Arrival of the Humans
III. The Rise of the Ants
IV. The Conflict Begins
V. The Search for a Solution
VI. The Final Showdown

Tweet:

"Just finished reading the latest SciFi novel by Greg Walters. 'Mars: Ants and Humans' is a must-read for any SciFi fan. Action-packed and thought-provoking #Mars #Ants #Humans #SciFi"

One-paragraph summary:

"In 'Mars: Ants and Humans', Greg Walters takes us on a journey to the red planet where humanity has established a colony, only to find themselves at odds with a highly intelligent ant species that have also made their home on Mars. As tensions rise and war breaks out, a small group of humans and ants must come together to find a peaceful solution before it's too late."

Script for the introduction in the style of Orson Wells:

Narrator: "Ladies and gentlemen, we invite you to journey with us to the red planet. A world of endless possibilities and untold dangers. A world where man and ant must come together to survive. This is the story of 'Mars: Ants and Humans'."

(The camera pans to a shot of a rocket launching from Earth)

Narrator: "In the year 2085, humanity has reached for the stars. And we have found a new home, a new world to call our own. But as we set foot on Mars, we soon realize that we are not alone."

(The camera cuts to a shot of ants scurrying across the Martian landscape)

Narrator: "A highly intelligent ant species has also made their home on Mars. And as our two worlds collide, a battle for survival begins."

(The camera cuts to a shot of human and ant soldiers facing off against each other)

Narrator: "But amidst the chaos, a glimmer of hope emerges. A small group of humans and ants, united in their quest for peace, set out to find a solution before it's too late."

(The camera cuts to a shot of the human and ant characters meeting for the first time)

Narrator: "This is the story of 'Mars: Ants and Humans', a tale of conflict and cooperation, of survival and sacrifice. Join us now on this epic journey to the red planet."

(The camera fades to black)

Narrator: "Mars: Ants and Humans, written by Isaac Asimov."

Note: The above story is just fictional and not a real book.
